New Look for SORBA Atlanta SORBA Atlanta has a new logo and a new website that continues to improve. The 2010 webmaster, Steve Berrey, has been hard at work designing the new look and functionality of the site, which includes pages for news, upcoming events, meeting notes and more. A page dedicated solely to trails features a GoogleMap, maintained by SORBA member, Al Brown, that displays mountain biking trailheads in the Atlanta region complete with links to trail maps and related trail websites. Another cool feature allows users to set up a Login on the site that allows you to register for rides and events, post comments, vote on polls, and receive email notifications of new content. Many thanks for the time and efforts of Tera Pike Smith, who designed the new logo, and our web guru, Steve Berrey. You guys rock! Success Stories SORBA volunteers put in over 200 hours improving trails at the Dauset Mountain Biking Trail System in Jackson, Ga on February 27th! The Dauset trail system is located on private land owned by Dauset Nature Center, and this was the first time SORBA was invited to help with trail work on their lands. Thanks to all those who ventured out that cold winter weekend! |

National Parks Week Saturday April 17, come show your support and dare to make a difference in the outdoor lover’s community. Just a bit of your time goes a long way when it comes to improving trail and advocating for more sustainable trail at Sope Creek, a unit of Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Worried about how you could contribute? Worry no more! There’s a task for everyone. Just show up wearing long pants and a pair of durable shoes. The party starts at 8:30am and ends with a light lunch and a viewing of the Ken Burns film “National Parks: America’s Best Idea”. Meet at the Power Island Pavilion area off Interstate North Parkway. For more details and directions, visit this event’s page on the SORBA Atlanta website. |
