Greetings and happy holidays from your new SORBA Atlanta board of directors!

As we are in the Christmas season, we would like to invite you to our December monthly meeting which will be much more of a social than a meeting. We have a great location being provided by Rockledge Apartments in Atlanta and will have some great music, food, drinks, and a photo slideshow of rides, races, and work that we have participated in during 2009. If you have any pictures that you would like to contribute, please send them to us at sorba dot atlanta at gmail dot com.

This will be a great opportunity to re-connect with SORBA and to meet your new board of directors. We have mostly new faces on the board and are already working on making 2010 a new and exciting time for the Atlanta chapter. We are working on a trail care weekend / mini-festival at Dauset for February 26-28 (details to follow) as well as time trials, group rides, a new website (already being worked on), and some branding so that we can showcase the great trails (current and forthcoming) we have in the metro Atlanta area. Also, the IMBA World Summit is coming to FATS / Augusta in May so it's a great time to be a mountain biker in the largest city in the South!

As you can see, we have need for additional help so if you are interested in using your talents and skills to lead group rides, talk with people about mountain biking, or help shape the future of your favorite Atlanta trail, please let us know! Our chapter covers a very large geographic region and there are many opportunities for us (by current count, over 50 miles of NEW trail within 20 minutes of downtown -- some intown-- are at our fingertips).
